Background and Objectives
As represented by the IMO e-Navigation strategy, IT has also made rapid progress in the field of shipping for safe and effective maritime transportation. To address this situation, Tokyo University of Maritime Science and Technology (TUMSAT) has promoted research and development of operational technology using IT, such as Maritime Broadband Communication System, Electronic Navigation System, Advanced Operation Control System and Advanced Vessel Management System. Moreover, by taking advantage of the outcome in such R & D activities, TUMSAT has also fostered excellent human resources, who will open the way to the future for maritime society. On this occasion, we would like to introduce the research outcomes and exchange views.
