CREATING THE OCEAN WE WANT

Multi Stakeholder monitoring-evaluation at "WATERS takeshiba" in Tokyo Bay for understanding interaction between land and ocean connecting with Asian Marine Educators

Session 1: At the artificial sand beach "WATERS takeshiba" in the center of Tokyo, not only you can feel the ocean closely, but also understand the influence from land. For example, nutrients are carried from land and various marine organisms inhabit. Also participants will be able to understand ocean plastics and CSO problems experientially. By looking at the city from the perspective of water, we can also notice that a functional urban space is being constructed in shallow water. From the perspective of scientists and educators, we encourage people to participate in water quality monitoring, biological surveys, plastic garbage surveys, vegetation surveys, etc. These are conducted by multi stakeholder including local people, enterprises, local government, students, educators, professors to promote UNESCO Ocean Literacy. We would like to introduce our each activities by each kore members

Session 2: The members of Asian Marine Educators Association will collaborate to introduce each activities from Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Philippine.
