Welcome to the Chemical Oceanography Lab at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology!
We are a group of three faculty members (Profs. Jota Kanda, Michiyo Yamamoto-Kawai, and Fuminori Hashihama), a post-doc, and graduate and undergraduate students. Our work primarily focuses on cycles of nutrients, carbon and other chemical properties in seawater and their relation to physical and biological processes in the ocean.
Our research fields includes Tokyo Bay, tropical oceans and polar oceans.
