AMEA with ECOPs OCEAN LITERACY

CONFERENCE 2025 JAPAN

Welcome!

ASIA MARINE EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION with UN Ocean Decade endorsed program

for Early Career Ocean Professionals

August 4 -6@Tokyo, and August 7-9@Itoigawa, 2025, Japan

Promotion for OCEAN LITERACY WITH ALL

Ocean literacy education began in the early 2000s and has since gained acceptance among numerous marine educators, government officials, and business leaders, expanding to countries worldwide. However, its application remains largely confined to areas directly related to marine education. To further advance ocean literacy, it is essential to engage with diverse sectors within marine research and industry.

How can ocean literacy initiatives, currently being implemented in various locations, be integrated with different fields of the marine sector?

Additionally, sharing marine research and various projects led by specialized marine sectors, including early career ocean professionals (ECOPs), will significantly enhance ocean literacy education.

What types of collaboration and cooperation are necessary to achieve the goals of the Ocean Decade beyond different specialized sector?

Let us convene marine educators, researchers, and business professionals from around the globe, including Asia, to foster a deeper discussion.
