Target
Scaling and Corrosion
We have been researching the mechanism of scaling and corrosion in various water, especially geothermal and underground water.

Material Science
We have beeen researching fatigue and stress corrossion cracking of Metal.

We can help you to get schalorship as an international student.
We are welcome to everyone corabollating with us.

We are collaborating with NIMS, Yokohama Natinoal University, and Nagoya University.

TOPICS (Last updated on 2024/05/30)

2024/6/24 Lecture as a lecturer.
We will be speaking on the topic of “Corrosion and Scale in Geothermal Power Plants” in the “Corrosion Problems and Countermeasures in Environmental and Energy-Related Equipment Toward Realization of Carbon Neutrality” at the technical seminar of the Society of Corrosion Prevention, Japan.

2024/5/20 Visited a geothermal power plant.
We went to Mori Geothermal Power Plant for a field trip.

2024/4/17 Dr. Hong Lien visited our lab.
Dr. Hong Lien from Institute of Materials Science, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology visited our laboratory. We decided to pursue joint research in the future.

2024/3/22 A paper on the analysis of submarine hydrothermal deposits in Kagoshima Bay Wakamiko crater was published.

A paper on mineralogical analysis of submarine hydrothermal deposits in the Wakamiko crater, Kagoshima Bay, co-authored by Dr. Dekov Vesseline, has been published.

2024/3/6 Servo Pulsar Test Equipment was received from NIMS.

We received a testing machine from NIMS. We plan to use it for the evaluation of metallic materials for marine vessels specialized for next-generation zero-emission ships.

2024/3/1 A paper was published in the Journal of the Geothermal Society of Japan.

A paper titled “Sulfur Scale Generated in a Binary Power Plant Using Hot Spring Steam,” co-authored by Eimi Ukai, a graduate of our laboratory, has been published in the Journal of the Geothermal Society of Japan and will be available for download on J-stage in about 6 months. This paper points out that there are cases in which scale is a problem in binary power plants using hot spring steam, although it was previously thought that scale was unlikely to be a problem in binary power plants using hot spring steam, and analyzes the substances involved.

2024/3/1 Accepted to the doctoral program.

Min Aung San, a second-year master's student, was accepted to the doctoral program.
