The original Maritime English database system is designed for Japanese users.
The contents consist of English entry words, Japanese translation, example sentences and their Japanese translations.
For non-Japanese users, the following files that are being used in our Deck and Engine English courses are available.
As we collect more words and example sentences, those will also be made available here.
Terms on Life Saving Appliances

This program allows a user to learn Maritime English words and phrases as they listen to example sentences. It is so designed that 5 sessions of 10 to 20 words make up one lesson to be covered in a week. The program is written using Java Script and is meant to be viewed using Internet Explorer. It can easily be modified using a simple text editor (e.g. Notepad) to add new items to an existing lesson, or create a new lesson of your own.
