Visualization of FOC for fishing bort by smartphone

■ Overview
According to data from Fisheries agency, more than 20% Fuel cost occupy in
total cost of fishing industry.
I think I would like to reduce Fuel cost for fishing industry.

■ Self-introduction
My hometown is Yamaguchi prefecture.
I transferred to this university from Oshima College.
When free time I spend reading books, watching movie and riding motorcycle.
My strength is that I'm lucky and very active.
I hope that I meet people from various fields.

Examination of measurement method of Thrust horsepower by analysis of operational data of CPP ship

■ Overview
In this research, we focused on SHP at zero thrust (we call Rotational horsepower tentatively), and we have examined whether the THP(Thrust horsepower), which is the net power required for ship propulsion, can be calculated from operational data of the actual ship.

■ Self-introduction
I belong to the Power Electronics laboratory, but my research has little to do with Electricity.
My hobbies are playing the piano and accordion, and cameras(especially film cameras).

Study of Underwater Wireless Power Transfer with Multiple Power Sources

■ Overview
Wireless power transfer is a method that enables power transfer to places that do not have physical contact points by using electromagnetic induction of coils. However, the efficiency of wireless power transfer in water is low because the coils tend to be misaligned due to the influence of waves.
If the misalignment can be determined, it can be reduced and the efficiency can be improved. In this research, we are investigating the possibility of quantitatively measuring the positional misalignment by preparing multiple power sources on the transmission side.

Research and development of energy consumption simulation for large vessels

■ Overview
We have developed a simulation to estimate energy consumption on the propulsion system and the electric system.
It is expected that various power systems can be compared in the same condition by using our simulation.

■ Self-introduction
Hi! My name is Riku Kurihara. I belong to the track & field club.
My hobby is reading books and visiting shrines and temples. Thank you.

Effects of using a battery system for the onboard AC electric system to the fuel consumption of the generator

■ Overview
I am studying the effectiveness of installing a battery system in the AC power system of a ship to reduce the fuel consumption of generators. We have developed our own simulations and fed them with measured data on the load factor of onboard generators to estimate and discuss the effects on fuel consumption depending on whether or not a battery system is installed and how it is operated.

■ Self-introduction
I am Norichika Nagayama, a senior in the Engine System Engineering Course, Department of Marine Electronics and Mechanical Engineering. I was interested in the wide range of research topics and applied to this laboratory. I also belong to the American football team of my alma mater (high school) as a student coach as part of my extracurricular activities. I am looking forward to working with you.
